Recently, we were commissioned to photograph the newly completed Fortitude Valley State Secondary College for our client Donald Cant Watts Corke, and Arcadia Landscape Architecture.

DCWC was engaged by the Queensland Department of Education to provide Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Programming services for Brisbane’s first vertical school, Fortitude Valley State Secondary College.

Fortitude Valley State Secondary College is located on a tight site between St Pauls Terrace and Brookes Street in Fortitude Valley.

The school will act as a new education option for families in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane CBD, Newstead, Bowen Hills, New Farm and Hamilton.

DCWC named finalist for 2020 Project Management Achievement Awards

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist for the PMAA’s in the ‘Government’ category.” said QLD Managing Director, Bill Douglas. The Fortitude Valley State Secondary College project was the first ‘vertical school’ to be built in Queensland, which created some unique challenges for all of the stakeholders involved, including the Department of Education, The Design team, the D&C Contractor and the School community. The DCWC team is exceedingly proud to have been a part of this high performing team with outstanding skills, expertise, innovation and passion. The outcome has been the creation of  a world class teaching environment that all of the participants are truly proud of. The PM teams best accolade is that from the Foundation Principal of the FVSSC, Sharon Barker, who said “I believe that Paolo Moretti and his team have very effectively managed the complex decision-making processes by skillfully negotiating and communicating with all stakeholders.  They have balanced the fine line between meeting the high expectations of this project with the scope of the budget”.
